Trim is where the corners of a house stop being square. Almost nothing in a lived-in home is: ceilings sag, walls twist, and a crown joint that was cut at 45° opens up by the time you're three rooms in.
On a job in Elgin we ran crown across a high ceiling with a roof transition — the angles change through the run — and built mirrored wall frames on two walls that had to match side to side. That took scaffolding, layout time and a lot of patience before a single piece went up.
Then the part that decides how it looks: fill, sand, caulk, and a trim coat with edges that stay crisp. Install is a day's skill. The finish is what you actually see.
Proudly serving Palatine and the NW suburbs: Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Barrington, Des Plaines, Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, Rolling Meadows, Elgin and Vernon Hills.
Trim Installation — How Pricing Works
We install trim with clean lines and durable joints. No shortcuts. One team responsible for the full labor scope.
- Single-room trim — baseboards and casing
- Crown moulding — priced by corners, angles and ceiling height
- Feature walls and wainscoting — priced by layout
Each one can be install only, or install and paint.

FAQ
Do you install crown moulding on uneven walls or tricky angles?
Yes. Out-of-square corners and uneven ceilings are the normal case, not the exception. It costs layout time, not magic. We plan the layout so corners stay clean and transitions tight.
Are materials included?
No. Moulding, MDF/wood, and specialty trim items are selected separately. We can recommend what to buy or install homeowner-supplied materials.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. After an on-site walkthrough, we provide a clear scope and labor proposal.
Can crown be installed on a vaulted or angled ceiling?
Yes, and it's the job we like most. The angle changes through the run, so the spring angle has to stay consistent or the reveal wanders. We did exactly this on an Elgin ceiling with a roof transition in July 2025.
Do the wall frames have to be symmetrical?
For the look you're paying for, yes. We lay out spacing against the architectural features of the room first — windows, doors, the fireplace — and mirror it wall to wall before anything gets fastened.
Install only, or install and paint?
We do both. Install-only makes sense if you're repainting the room later anyway. If you're not, install-and-paint is the cheaper of the two in the end, because the caulk lines and the trim coat get done once, by the people who cut the joints.
